Introducing.... Commission Friday

I've been striving to get this blog on a regular schedule with new posts every week.  In addition to a new post every Tuesday, I'm going to start adding commission art and sketches on Friday.  These will be mostly images drawn for fans that were never intended for publication.  To start things off, here's a sketch of Colossus and Kitty Pryde by the very talented Paul Smith!

Rare but not unpublished Jim Lee

Here is the cover for Speakeasy Magazine #119, featuring a Jim Lee promotional image.
I don't think this art was ever published anywhere else.

Krakoa Re-Imagined

John Byrne has done a lot of excellent commission work over the last few years.
To get the full effect of this awesome re-imagining of the battle from the end of Giant-Size X-Men #1, you'll want to click on the image in John Byrne's gallery to see the full sized version.

Cerebus and the X-Men

This piece by Dave Sim and Paul Smith was for a Cerebus/X-Men crossover that was proposed, but never made it to production.

X-Men #3

From my very own private vintage stock, I offer this cover proof for X-Men #3.  I only know that it was never used, and had assumed it was commissioned in case Jim Lee was late with his cover art.  However, the art is labeled 1992, and X-Men #3 had a cover date of December 1991.  If anyone has information on the genesis of this artwork, please contact me.

More Uncanny JRjr

Here is another cover from John Romita Jr's second run on Uncanny X-Men.  It appears to be labeled for issue #316, however his last published issue was #311. This art was later printed in Uncanny X-Men Annual #18.
